El territorio
Just as the ancient bards sang of the great deeds of the heroes so they would not fade into oblivion, the wine bards are growers whose wisdom has been inherited over generations together with the experience of having worked in the vineyard all their lives.
True enough theirs would be a better life if they moved to another area, where they could produce more and work less, or change with the times and stop working the vineyard only by hand. They could, but they would no longer be the Bards.
The vine
The collection
Only the strongest vines are able to survive the Páramo, a region that suffers extremely dry summers and interminably long and severe winters. That capacity of resistance acquired during decades is the cause of the very low production of Tinta del Pais in the vineyards, and in turn, gives each cluster that special character capable of producing unique wines.
The Bardos
Páramos de Corcos
The collection
The Páramo de Corcos region is the most surprising and at the same time, unknown region of Ribera. Ten thousand hectares of flat landscape, where only the bravest know how to work the land in extreme conditions throughout the year. A place where the cold shrinks the bones, the wind cuts the flesh and the sun burns the skin.
The Páramo reflects the sweat, fear and strength of the people who cultivate a land where the most sought after grape of the entire denomination can be found.
The Vine
The collection
Colour: It stands out for its great intensity, excellent depth of color, but above all for its luminosity, with some cherry reddish tones and violet hues on the rim accompanied by bluish glints.
Nose: It is an inspiration to the ethereal world, to the fresh air; a combination of jasmine flower with citrus notes of acid grapefruit, surrounded by a variety of red fruit. A more balsamic side appears in the background, eucalyptus and aromatic notes that evoke height and sublime freshness.
Palate: Balance and elegance are in its DNA; constants throughout its passage in the mouth. The soft tactile sensations of its structure intertwine with the fresh fruit, the result of cultivation at high altitude.
Varieties:: Tinta Fina (Tempranillo), accompanied in small percentages by Garnacha, Albillo Mayor and others
Vineyard: Small plots (some with just two or three lines), where vines planted more than 80 years ago coexist with others that are more than 140 years old and pre-phylloxera. Vineyards situated in the most northeastern region of the Ribera del Duero, in the ancient town of Villálvaro, on the Ribera border, in the province of Soria.

Alcohol Content: 14,5% Vol.
Moradillo de Roa
Colour: Excellent depth of color, it manifests shades of picota cherry with slight dark nuances of evolution on the rim. Shows Crystal clear and shiny liveliness in the glass
Nose: Highly aromatic, it elegantly combines ripe fruit notes with the nuances of oak, accentuating cocoa and dark chocolate tones. In the background, there are also more complex notes of orange peel and certain aromatic plants.
Palate: Shows a great structure, although its attack is sweet and affable. The power of the grape is reinforced by the interaction with the oak, thus generating sensations of amplitude that are transferred throughout its passage in the mouth.
Varieties:: Tinta Fina (Tempranillo), and to a lesser extent Garnacha, Albillo Mayor, Bobal, Monastrell and Graciano can be found.

The Winemaker
When we created Bardos, we had the option of settling in the prestigious Golden Mile, as big wineries do, or complicating our lives and settling in the coldest, highest and most difficult area of the entire denomination. We chose the second option for a reason, if we wanted to make a daring wine we would need to be surrounded by daring people.
And the result has made it worthwhile. A collection that reflects the perfect balance between power and finesse, between complexity and intensity. Four elegant, fine tannin, very fresh wines.
